Peas are not just a tasty ingredient in many dishes; they are also an excellent source of plant-based protein. Especially for women, peas offer numerous health benefits, making them a valuable part of a balanced diet. Today, I want to share a simple and delicious recipe for a pea dip, which is a wonderful alternative to classic guacamole.

Why Peas?

  1. Low-Calorie Protein Source: Peas are a fantastic source of plant-based protein while being low in calories. This makes them an ideal ingredient for those who want to watch their calorie intake but still get enough protein.

  2. Hormonal Health: Peas contain natural phytoestrogens that can help regulate estrogen levels in the body. This is particularly helpful during menopause to alleviate symptoms like hot flashes.

  3. Blood Sugar Regulation: The high fiber content in peas helps regulate blood sugar levels.

The Perfect Post-Workout Snack

After an intense workout or a long day, this pea dip offers an optimal mix of protein and essential nutrients to help your body recover and replenish energy stores. It is versatile – enjoy it as a spread, with veggie sticks, or as a salad topping.

Recipe: Pea Dip

Ingredients:

  • 400g frozen peas

  • 100ml plant milk

  • 1 tablespoon salt

  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Place the frozen peas, milk, and a tablespoon of salt in a pot.

  2. Cook everything slowly, ensuring the heat is not too high to prevent all the liquid from evaporating.

  3. Once the peas are soft and most of the liquid has evaporated, remove the mixture from the heat.

  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  5. Blend everything well until you achieve a creamy consistency.

This pea dip is not only quick and easy to make but also offers numerous health benefits. It is an excellent, protein-rich alternative to avocado, supporting both hormonal health and blood sugar regulation. Give this delicious dip a try – your body will thank you!
